Pennsylvania Native Plant Society Green Seal Pledge
The mission of the Pennsylvania Native Plant Society is to advocate for the conservation of native plants and their habitats as well as promote the increased use of native plants in the landscape.
Native plants are important for several reasons:
|
We are asking nurseries listed on our Website to sign a pledge not to sell any Dirty Dozen plants. In addition to the Dirty Dozen, the attached pledge also asks nurseries not to sell plants treated with neonicotinoid pesticides, with the majority of plant sales be native plants (according to BONAP- Biota of North America Program). Nurseries that sign the pledge will earn a Native Plant Green Seal Nursery designation on our website and flyer as preferred places to buy native plants. The flyer will be promoted at tabling events we participate in throughout the state. Nurseries taking the pledge will also receive a sticker of the seal to display at their location.
Please review the Dirty Dozen list and sign the pledge. The pledge can be returned to us electronically via email or mailed to our address. We thank you for taking the time to review these materials and for your pledge to provide healthy and sustainable plants and habitats for birds and other organisms.
