How to start a chapter

Chapters are a wonderful way to get to know native plant enthusiasts in your area and gives you the opportunity for local events such as plant sales, hikes, speakers, etc.

The Pennsylvania Native Plant Society currently has two chapters, one in the Lehigh Valley and one in the Lancaster area.

Each chapter elects a president and such other officers as it deems necessary. In addition, there must be an officer who will
receive correspondence.  Each chapter creates their own bylaws and handles their own finances.

A chapter can be formed if there are at least nine (9) individuals in the geographic area that are interested in pursuing this status.  A petition needs to be submitted to the PNPS Board of Directors .  The Board will then review the petition and respond back to the individuals with any questions.  Once approved, the chapter can then be formalized.

More information is included on the petition form.    Questions can be directed to [email protected]
