PNPS is committed to supporting programs and events advocating for the use of native plants. Money obtained from memberships and donations go to the following:
- Grants: PNPS provides support to community projects with donations of plants or grants to purchase plants.
- Outreach: PNPS representatives travel across the state to various community events and set up an information table to distribute educational and other outreach materials.
- Newsletter: PNPS publishes a semi-annual newsletter to our members.
- Annual Meeting: PNPS sponsors an annual meeting with speakers discussing a variety of topics relating to the use of native plants. This is also open to the general public at either no or low cost.
We invite anyone interested in native plants to join our organization. We offer the following types of memberships:
Membership dues are due the first of each year for the upcoming year. If you join in the last quarter of the year, your dues payment will cover the entire following year.
For additional information, send an e-mail to email@example.com
Members receive our Annual Newsletter, discounts on educational programming and the satisfaction of knowing that they are supporting our mission.
Membership dollars are used to purchase native plant seeds for outreach events, plants and seeds for demonstration gardens as schools and parks and also for sponsorship of educational projects like the Hometown Habitat, Upper Deleware Bioblitz and Pennsylvania Botany Symposium. Membership dollars pay for the printing and mailing of our annual newsletter and speaker fees at our annual meeting.
We hold an annual meeting each year, typically in November featuring various speakers as well as annual elections.
We invite you to work with us to forward the PNPS mission. We need volunteers to help with a variety of projects including: developing educational materials and producing our newsletter and organizing our Annual Meeting. There are things that you could help with from home on your computer and opportunities for working with the public at outreach events.
