Central Pennsylvania Native Plant Festival and Sale Vendor Requirements

Please contact us if you are interested in being a vendor! Email [email protected]

Date: First Saturday in May of each year
Location: State College, PA
Sale time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm -  subject to change

Vendor Details:

  • NO EARLY SALES – on the day of the sale, you cannot start selling until 10:00 am. This is based on vendor feedback. We need your support in this and we will include it in our advertising. This does not refer to pre-orders.
  • Reservation fee and deadline: $50 check, payable to PNPS due by March 1.   Total vendor fee is 5% of your proceeds or the $50 deposit, whichever is greater. Payment is required the day of the sale and may be paid either in cash or by check. (This vendor fee is used primarily to promote the plant sale event and help cover event-operation expenses.)
  • Set up: Saturday morning  between 7:30 am - 9:30 am. All vendors must arrive NO LATER than 9:00 am.
  • Allotted space for plant vendors:  Roughly rectangular plots, approximately 20’ wide,on a grass/wooded location. Depth is up to you, within reason. In addition, you will be able to park your vehicle behind your plot or nearby, so loading and unloading is convenient. You will need to supply your own canopy, tables, chairs, display racks, etc. There is no electricity or water source available.
  • Pre-order arrangements: We have encouraged individuals to pre-order plants that can then be picked up and paid for at the sale. We will assume that you are willing to accept pre-orders. If not, please let us know so we can note that in our advertising.

Plant requirements:

All plants offered for sale
must be native to Pennsylvania and must be nursery-or garden-propagated from seed, division or cuttings. Our reference for “native” is The Plants of Pennsylvania: an illustrated manual (Rhoads and Block 2007) or the PA Flora database (http://www.paflora.org/).

 Additional plant requirements:
  • No wild-collected plants may be sold.
  • Cultivars of Pennsylvania natives may be sold but must be clearly labeled as cultivars.
  • A list of the species you intend to sell must be sent to us by March 1. We will use this list, in close coordination with you, to ensure a broad selection of plants available at the sale, and to post on our website for pre-orders and visitor convenience. If you make any substitutions to the list, please notify us in advance. If you have any questions about plant requirements, please contact us. Your plant list must be submitted by March 1 for a compliance review. We will respond with any feedback and/or questions about your plant list no later than March 15.
